Wondering what your SLP can work on with you or your loved one in speech therapy? Believe it or not, it's a lot more than speech!

Here's just a taste. ✨

Speech:

How we make sounds and words with our oral mechanisms.

It includes pronunciation (articulation), how fluently we speak, and the quality of our voice.

Language & AAC:

Expressive: Our use of language (including words, gestures & signs, symbols, and speech-generating devices) to share thoughts, ideas, and feelings.

Receptive: Our understanding of language.

Social Communication:

How we use language to connect with others. It includes things like taking turns in conversation, staying on topic, and understanding body language & social cues.

Pre-Literacy & Literacy:

Literacy is the ability to read, write, and understand written language.

Pre-literacy includes the early building blocks for reading and writing.
